It looks like it’ll be a while. In light of new toll hikes and congestion pricing, we are not too optimistic about the State legislature ever sending a bill to Governor Cuomo to lift the toll on the Cross Bay Bridge. And if he ever gets such a bill, he’ll probably tell us how lucky we are already. The Verrazano Bridge is now the most expensive one-way bridge toll in the country. If you don’t have E-Zpass or a resident discount, the toll will set you back $19.

Lots and lots of people fell for an Eric Ulrich April Fool’s joke on Monday. The City Councilman announced online that he was stepping down from his office to take a job with the Trump administration in Washington. Many wished him well, others wished him the opposite! Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury…those words will likely be spoken by year’s end by the law firm of Sullivan & Galleshaw, now that a judge has ruled that the Long Island Power Authority and National Grid must face a jury in a case brought by the law firm. The suit alleges that the power companies were negligent in their lack of preparation for Hurricane Sandy resulting in three separate massive electrical fires on the peninsula.
