AmpSurf is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization made up of amputees, veterans, surfers, water persons, friends and families of the disabled. The group’s mission is to Promote, Inspire, Educate and Rehabilitate people with disabilities, especially our veteran heroes, Special-Needs Athletes and the disabled through adaptive surfing and the healing power of the ocean.
Ampsurf says, “Please join us on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Beach 67th Street for our next Adaptive Surf Clinic from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. Sign in at the beach begins at 8:30 a.m.
"Prior to the event, go to www.AmpSurf.org/Intake to register: click on the drop down menu for the East Coast and check the New York date(s) August 17, 2019 you wish to attend; make sure you fill in the information requesting name, phone number, email, etc.
There is a $50 refundable deposit to hold your spot. This fee will be returned if you show up. Click SUBMIT. Note: Families with siblings are welcomed to attend free.”
AmpSurf is looking for volunteers from the Rockaway Beach community. If you are a surfer, lifeguard, water person or someone interested in Adaptive Surf Clinics, please register as a volunteer on the web site.
Future events you can register for are the 9/11 Breezy Point Memorial at the Cross of Steel at 8:30 am on September 11, 2019; and a clinic on September 14, 2019 at Beach 67th Street, 9 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
