Learn about an upcoming 6-week HVAC program starting Friday, November 8. Upon completion, students will receive a EPA 608 Universal Technician Certification. The course is FREE and open to high school seniors, individuals who have a H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.

Dubos Point Wildlife Sanctuary Bayfield Ave. & Beach 65th St.
Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy for a shoreline cleanup. Gloves, bags and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather- appropriate clothing and sturdy, close-toed shoes.

North Channel Bridge, Cross Bay Blvd Join Sadhana: Coalition of Progressive Hindus for a monthly beach clean-up at the North Channel Bridge as part of an ongoing effort to improve the coastline habitat of Jamaica Bay. Learn about Hindu culture while helping to protect our environment.

Join a park ranger on an owl adventure. Learn about owls and their habitat through a hike and owl pellet investigation. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the VFW. Family-Fun Day from noon to 3 p.m with games, snacks and treats for kids. Kids are free. 4 p.m.- 7 p.m—Buffet dinner $10 p/p; 8 p.m.-12 a.m.—Benefit concert $10 p/p, starring WALKER and Friends. 50/50 and raffles. All proceeds go towards supporting the VFW Post.
