According to the official website, “National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.” This year, it’s being held on Tuesday, August 3, and both of Rockaway’s NYPD precincts are getting in on the fun.
On Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the 101st Precinct will be holding their NNO at O’Donohue Park on Beach 17th Street. Their event will include a barbecue, games, a rock wall, music, resources and more for all ages.
The 100th Precinct will be holding their event in the parking lot on Beach 94th/95th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will include food, raffles, rides, games, a DJ and fun for all.
Come on out and enjoy these great community events!
