On Sunday, November 7 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to learn about the past, present, and future of climate change in National Parks with a walk to Jamaica Bay’s former “breach” caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Community Visioning in Edgemere
On Sunday, November 7 at 12 p.m., meet at the RISE Center (58-03 RBB) for a walking tour of Edgemere where RISE will investigate vacant lots that are soon to be developed as part of a new Community Land Trust in Rockaway. RISE is hosting three Community Forums, November to February 2022 to help the Edgemere community develop a plan for how these spaces should be used as parks, gardens, walking paths, recreational sites, or any other outdoor ideas the community comes up with. Junior Ranger Salt Marsh Detectives
On Thursday, November 11 at 1 p.m. at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, children and their families are invited to step into the shoes of a "nature detective” and investigate salt marshes. Dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes as you will be searching for clues along the West Pond Trail to solve the case!
On Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Beach 32nd Street and the boardwalk NYC Parks for a free, fun and funky low to medium impact dance fitness class.
