3 on 3 Set for August 29

Mark your calendars! The 12th Annual Clare Droesch 3 on 3 by the Sea will be on Friday, August 29 at the St. Francis de Sales Schoolyard. Nearly 100 teams in boys and girls divisions ranging from third grade to Men’s and Women’s Open are expected to compete and honor the memory and legacy of Rockaway basketball legend Clare Droesch, and her courageous battle against breast cancer.

Games will begin at 10 a.m. and continue through the afternoon. Apparel will be available for purchase along with 50/50 and special raffle tickets. Proceeds go to the Clare Droesch Foundation administered by the Graybeards, supporting scholarships at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy, Christ the King High School, and Boston College, as well as support to families in need.

A post event party will then take place in the evening at Callie’s. Registration will be available during the St. Francis Summer Classic in August, and through The Graybeards. Please see the ad in next week’s paper for more information.
