On Monday, December 15, the ladies of the Shore Garden Club of Belle Harbor Braved the icy streets of Brooklyn to attend their monthly meeting.

Hostesses Julie Fuchs and Rochelle Drate had set up the sumptuous array of luncheon delicacies. Julie had decorated her beautiful home with sparkly garlands and flowers.

But the true purpose of this meeting was facilitated by Marilyn Caprio and Malla Baker. They brought 24 donated mugs, flowers, greenery and homemade ribbon and pine decorations.

After lunch, the members set to work to create 24 stunning floral arrangements.

These arrangements were taken by our esteemed member, Bella Sinesky and her husband, Sammy, a Vietnam veteran, to Brooklyn Veterans Hospital. The flower-filled mugs were then distributed to the patients by hospital volunteers.

What a privilege to be able to brighten the holiday season for those who bravely served our country.
