  • The first battle of the American Civil War was fought on land owned by a Mr. Wilmer McLean. After the battle, he decided to move further out in the country to avoid the war. Four years later Gen. Lee surrendered to Gen. Grant in Mr. McLean’s house.

 

  • Cleopatra lived closer in time to the iPhone than the construction of the pyramids.

 

  • Picasso, Bruce Lee and JRR Tolkien all died the same year.

 

  • The year 536 is considered by many historians to have been the worst year to be alive. Volcanic eruptions caused prolonged dark sky which then caused a mini-ice age, crop failures and plague over the next 10 years killing millions.
