Economic Development Meeting
On Thursday, February 12 at 6:30 p.m., head to Far Rockaway Library (1637 Central Ave.) for a Community Board 14 Economic Development meeting to discuss El Duro Lounge and the repurposing of 10-18 Beach 20th Street.
V-Day 5K & Half Marathon
On Saturday, February 14, Rockaway Track Club hosts its Valentine’s Day 5K and half marathon runs. For bib pickup, check in and day-of registration, head to Healy’s Pub (108-07 Rockaway Beach Dr.) at 8 a.m. The runs begin on the Beach 108th boardwalk at 9 a.m.
Park Pals
On Sunday, February 15 at 10 a.m., head to The Nest (135 Aviation Road) in Floyd Bennett Field to join a free early childhood family program for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. Explore the wetlands of Floyd Bennett Field, learning why these habitats are so important for both people and wildlife. This month’s session introduces little ones to salt marshes, estuaries, and the amazing animals that call them home. Enjoy hands-on activities, including a themed read-aloud, eco-crafts, a guided nature walk to our shoreline, and playful sensory exploration inspired by the wetlands’ creatures and sounds.
Winter Wander Nature Walk
On Sunday, February 15 at 11 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to wander with a park ranger while it’s a winter wonderland! Explore how plants and animals at the park survive and adapt to the winter. Open to all ages. Please dress for the conditions.
Chair Movement With Weights
On Tuesday, February 17 at 11 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) to join Christine Walker, a breath facilitator, licensed massage therapist, and certified yoga instructor, for a free class on chair movement with weights. You will be seated and standing. All are welcome!
Environmental Committee Meeting
On Thursday, February 19 at 6:30 p.m., head to Far Rockaway Library (1637 Central Ave.) for a Community Board 14 Environmental Committee meeting on the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act and Onyx Generate’s proposal for a desalination plant in Fort Tilden.
Body Weight Circuit Training
On Tuesdays at 7 p.m., head to the Sorrentino Recreation Center (18-48 Cornaga Ave.) for a free body weight circuit training class with Edith. Membership not required. Ongoing through May.
Rockaway Game Club
On Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., head to Bungalow Bar (377 Beach 92nd Street) to join Rockaway Game Club for a night of games! $10 for first-timers, $5 for return adventurers. All ages welcome. Stop by anytime. Follow @rockawaygameclub for more!

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head the Far Rockaway Library (1637 Central Ave.) to join Gloria for Cardio Punch, a total body workout for all levels. Punch to the rhythms of motivating music. Through April.
