Bishop Robert Brennan Visits the Parish of St. Mary Star of the Sea

The Far Rockaway parish celebrated Nuestro Señor de Esquipulas at the 7:30 p.m. Mass on January 10. Bishop Robert Brennan was joined by Pastor Father Frank Shannon, deacons, and parishioners for this special feast. Despite the rain, the spirit of the celebration was undampened.

This Central American devotion originated in Guatemala and has since spread to neighboring countries—and now to Far Rockaway. Bishop Brennan praised the standing-room-only congregation, thanking those who continue to keep this cherished tradition alive. He also commended the parish’s youth for turning out in great numbers.
