Celebrating a 100th Heavenly Birthday
Alice Mary McLaughlin was born on July 20, 1924, to Alice and Joseph McLaughlin, the second of four daughters. She was raised on Beach Channel Drive at Beach 136th Street. She married Charlie Rayder Jr. on November 15, 1941, at the age of 17. At 19 years old, Alice Mary had her first daughter, Alicemary, followed by Jeanne Marie, Charlie III, Joey, Timmy, Billy, Mary Lou, Danny, Tommy, Peter, Ellen and Gerard. Together, Alice Mary and Charlie have 39 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. Their first great, great grandchild is expected to arrive shortly. They all got together last weekend to celebrate what would’ve been Alice Mary’s 100th birthday. What a legacy she and Charlie created.
