 Congratulations Detective Victor Boamah!

At a ceremony at the NYPD Police Academy in College Point on Friday, March 28, the 100th Precinct NYPD Community Affairs Officer Victor Boamah officially got his promotion to Detective.

Just a little more than a week before, Detective Boamah was granted an on-the-spot promotion by Mayor Eric Adams after Belle Harbor Property Owners Association vice president Ed Lynch put in a good word and sang Victor’s praises at a Rockaway Town Hall on March 19.

After his promotion, Detective Boamah took to social media to share, “I am grateful to God for this promotion to Detective. I would like to thank Mayor Eric Adams and Ed Lynch for making this happen. The Wave and Rockaway Times newspapers, your dedication to sharing my stories is appreciated. To my Far Rockaway family, your encouragement is a reflection of our community’s spirit. I am thankful for the support of my parents, family, and friends. Positions are temporary. Ranks and titles are limited. But the way you treat people will always be remembered. Be a good person.”
