Dr. Morrish Announced as Episcopal Health CEO
Bishop Lawrence C. Provenzano, Chairman, Board of Trustees, announced the appointment of Donald T. Morrish, MD, MMM as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Episcopal Health Services Inc. Dr. Morrish has been part of the health system since 2013, first as the Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology and most recently as Executive Vice President/Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
As CMO, Dr. Morrish led the hospital’s strategic agenda to deliver innovative healthcare. Through his leadership, he has led successful teams that improved quality, patient safety and satisfaction measures for the health system. He has also worked successfully to implement, integrate and onboard a new hospitalist, emergency medicine and anesthesia service.
Dr. Morrish received recognition from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics National Faculty. In addition, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recognized him for his excellence in residency education in obstetrics and gynecology. He is also a distinguished author, who has co-authored numerous publications. Dr. Morrish earned a Master of Medical Management degree from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He is a trained Residency Program Director by the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology Program Director School and has earned multiple recognitions for his transformative work.

Dr. Morrish will succeed Gerard M. Walsh who successfully led the health system for the past nine years and will retire March 2024. Mr. Walsh will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees and continue to work with the St. John’s ICARE Foundation to assist with fundraising efforts.
