Family Run Set for Aug. 8

The 22nd annual Graybeards Family Run will return this year on Friday, August 8.

The evening will begin around Beach 129th and Rockaway Beach Blvd. with children’s races of varying lengths along Rockaway Beach Blvd. at 6:30 p.m. An inspirational run by Rockaway’s Special Athletes will follow at 6:45 p.m. The 1 Mile Run is next at 7 p.m. and then the marquee 5k Run at 7:15 p.m. Post-race festivities will be in St. Francis de Sales Fr. Grogan Memorial Schoolyard, and includes food, beverages, children’s activities, awards, raffles, and live music. In person registration is available at St. Francis on Saturday, August 2 from 10-12 p.m., Sunday, August 3 from 10-1 p.m., Thursday, August 7 from 6-8 p.m., and on the day of the race, Friday, August 8 from 4-6 p.m.
