National Night Out Set for August 5

“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live,” the official National Night Out (NNO) website says and on Tuesday, August 5, NNO will be celebrated in both of Rockaway’s precincts.

On Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the 101st Precinct Community Council’s NNO will take place at O’Donohue Park at Beach 17th Street. The evening will feature music, food, resources, performances, a Zumba class and more.

Also on Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the 100th Precinct Community Council’s NNO will be held at the Beach 94th parking lot. There will be rides, games, performances, food, music, resources, raffles and more.

So grab the whole family and support these incredible community events!
