 Rockaway Loves the Focaccia

Turns out Rockaway likes focaccia. Bungalow Bar had a good crowd in their back tent for a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as locals and visitors turned out to give La Focacceria a try as part of a pop-up experiment.

Local resident John Edwards, who has more than 25 years in the bakery business and knows how to make a great focaccia, and his daughter, Mary Kraemer, the former Fit Food Kitchen chef who knows how to make a delicious entrée, teamed up to present 12 varieties of focaccia for Rockaway to try at the three-day pop up, to see if the idea has legs and can turn into something bigger and more permanent. Folks from near and far sampled big sellers like chicken parm and spinach artichoke focaccias and left giving Edwards rave reviews.

“So far everyone loves it,” Edwards said. So much so that he’s thinking of doing another pop-up in the near future, so those who missed out, may get another chance to try it. For updates, follow @wegotchafocaccia on Instagram and La Focacceria on Facebook.
