Summer Classic Playoffs Begin

August is here and so are playoffs for the 41st St. Francis Summer Classic. Boys Grammar Middle, Boys Grammar Senior, and Boys High School began with first round games on Wednesday.

Quarterfinals for Boys High School will be Sunday, August 10 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. with Semifinals on Tuesday, August 12 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. and the champion­ship on Wednesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. Paul’s Bicycles, Bay Ridge Financial, and R. Tyne Painting lead the pack.

Boys Grammar Senior Quarterfinals are Monday, August 11 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., semifinals are Wednesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. and the Championship is on Friday, August 15 at 8:15 p.m. Undefeated Bungalow Bar sits atop the standings right now.

Boys Grammar Middle play their quarterfinals over two nights, Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Semifinals are Wednesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. and the Championship is on Friday, August 15 at 7 p.m. Crustinos is undefeated and in first place.

Girls Grammar Senior will take next week off with many players away and will play their Quarterfinals on Monday, August 18 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. and semifinals on Tuesday, August 19 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. The Championship date and time is being finalized. Rockaway W.I.S.H. is the top seed.

Girls High School semifinals will be Wednesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Championship date and time is being finalized. NF Beauty is the likely top seed in the playoffs.

The Tim Klein Mens Open divisions were rained out once again last Thursday. Reschedules are being worked on so the playoffs can begin with quarterfinals on Thursday, August 14. Cabana leads Division 1 while Conte Carpets and 4Elements share the lead in Division 2.

The Clare Droesch Women’s Open division is currently led by Pizza D’Amore. Quarterfinals are Monday, August 11 and Tuesday. August 12 at 7:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Semifinals are Monday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. with the time of the Championship on Tuesday, August 19 to be determined.
