Suzy Scrambler

By Shane Kulman
Dear Enchantress,
I have always struggled with money. I always make just enough and pay my bills, I have learned how not to be stressed, but I get to the point where I’m short for my rent and I scramble and worry. Eventually it works out. I’m an entrepreneur and also have several extra ways I make money. I take clients through an agency, but I will not do that again. I have one agency client and I help friends out by feeding their dogs, etc. How can I make a lasting change and get out of this way of being?
The pattern I find myself in feels like a loop: survive, pay, repeat. Even though I know I’m resourceful, creative, and able to generate what I need when pushed, it often feels like I’m living at the edge of a cliff. I want to move into a relationship with money that feels steady, nourishing, and dependable instead of chaotic. I’ve learned how to breathe through the fear, but it still lingers when bills are due.
I’m tired of relying on last-minute miracles. I want to step into a new season of my life where I trust myself to earn abundantly, where I don’t have to second guess if rent will be covered or if groceries will feel like a luxury. I imagine a life where money flows with ease, where I know my worth and don’t say yes out of desperation but instead from alignment.
How do I stop repeating the same survival story and finally feel like I’m thriving?
Dear Suzy Scrambler,
First, I want to honor the wisdom you already hold—you’ve built a life where the bills get paid, the money shows up, and you’ve learned how not to crumble under stress. That’s no small accomplishment. What I hear, though, is a cycle: feast-or-famine, relief followed by panic, then back again.
The lasting change comes when you shift from survival mode to receiving mode. That means no longer piecing together “whatever comes” but creating intentional, stable streams that match your value and energy. Start by choosing one main income channel (not agencies that drain you, but clients or offers that light you up) and commit to growing that, while letting go of the nickel-and-dime hustles that keep you scattered.
Next, get curious about your money identity: do you see yourself as someone who “just gets by”? That story keeps repeating until you write a new one. Begin calling yourself someone who creates overflow, someone who has enough to save and to play. When you shift the way you speak about yourself and your money, you shift the energy that surrounds it. Your words become a spell, and your spell becomes your reality.
Practical step: set a baseline. How much do you need for rent, bills, and ease? Then reverse-engineer—if your sessions are $300, how many would cover that? Write it down and track it daily. Money loves attention. The more you engage with it, the more stable it becomes. Celebrate even the smallest wins—a new client, an unexpected check, or a bill paid with ease. These celebrations train your nervous system to trust the flow rather than brace for the scramble.
You already have the creativity and resourcefulness. Now it’s about choosing focus, trust, and consistency. You don’t need to scramble anymore—you’re ready to create a calm, abundant foundation.
With enchantment and belief in your overflowing future abundance,
Enchantress Shane
