Thanksgiving Meals & Supply Giveaways

The holidays can be tough for some, but many organizations are here to make it easier. If you need help putting a Thanksgiving meal on the table or need somewhere to pick up a warm meal, there are many resources.
On Friday, November 22, The Campaign Against Hunger, along with Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, are hosting a Thanksgiving food distribution including turkey, ham, chicken, shelf-stable items and fresh produce at the Far Rockaway Farm (45-55 Beah Channel Drive) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a ticketed event. Call Pheffer Amato’s office at 718-945-9550 to reserve a ticket.
Also on Friday, November 22, Queens Community Justice Center is giving away free turkeys at 1027 Beach 20th Street starting at 6 p.m. One turkey per family. The giveaway goes until they run out. On Wednesday, November 27, the QCJC is also hosting a free Thanksgiving meal at the Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. For more info call 917-600-9891.
On Saturday, November 23 at 12 noon, Christian Izien, a Far Rockaway native and player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is hosting a turkey giveaway in partnership with Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers at the Rockaway YMCA (207 Beach 73rd Street). Reserve yours ats https://tinyurl.com/mspvc429
Also on Saturday, November 23, the Black Surfing Association and NYC Plover Project are teaming up to distribute a free warm potluck meal outside of the 100th Precinct (92-24 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) from 12 p.m. until supplies run out.
On Wednesday, November 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Councilwoman Joann Ariola is hosting a Thanksgiving feast giveaway that included a pre-cooked meal for a family of four experiencing food insecurity. Pick up at her Rockaway office (114-12 Beach Channel Dr.) You must reserve a meal by calling Jessica at 718-738-1083.
Need somewhere to grab a meal on Thanksgiving Day? The 100th Precinct Community Affairs Officers are providing meals from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Precinct (92-24 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) For seniors and disabled folks who cannot get to the precinct, they will deliver meals. Veterans in Command (116-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) is also providing hot meals to go on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 starting at 1 p.m. Meals are first come, first served. Please wait patiently in line to receive a meal.
