RRC Meeting & Debate Watch
On Thursday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m., head to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th Street) to join the Rockaway Republican Club for their monthly meeting and a watch party of the first NYC mayoral debate on NBC.
Sandy Anniversary Planting
On Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to Beach 44th Street and the boardwalk to join RISE for a shoreline cleanup and dune planting to create a natural protective barrier for the community.
Bayswater Park Cleanup
On Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to Bayswater Park (701 Bay 32nd Street) to join JBRPC to help remove trash and debris from the shoreline and surrounding park while enjoying incredible views of Jamaica Bay! Fall Freedom Fest
On Saturday, October 18 from 12 p.m. to late., head to Beach 129th/130th for a day of live music, food and drink specials and community. Callie’s: Wine With Sue from 12 to 3 p.m., Pico: Pete Brady from 2 to 5 p.m., Harbor Light: The Knobs from 4 to 7 p.m. & DJ Poppa from 9 p.m. to close and Jameson’s: Michael Bruncat & Russell Paccione Duo from 6 to 9 p.m. and DJ Jamie from 9 p.m. to close. $20 bracelets available at each establishment leading up to and day of the event.
No Kings Protest
On Saturday, October 18 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., head to the Beach 94th Amphitheater for a “No Kings” event to protest tyranny, President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies.
Park Pals: Pollinators of FBF
On Sunday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., head to Floyd Bennett Field to join JBRPC for Park Pals, an early childhood family program for children ages 0-6 and their caregivers. This fall pop-up series focuses on the special pollinators of Jamaica Bay. Explore and identify native pollinators like monarch butterflies, bumblebees, and cabbage moths, and their favorite snacks like milkweed, seaside goldenrod, and black-eyed susans. Enjoy themed sensory activities, a read-aloud, and a nature walk in the park. Miss Butterfly will guide everyone on a short walk and have a butterfly release to celebrate the importance of pollinators.

On Tuesday, October 21 at 7 p.m., head to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th Street) for the monthly Belle Harbor Property Owners Association meeting.
Rockaway Beach Marathon/ Half/ 5K
On Saturday, October 25, Rockaway Track Club hosts its Rockaway Beach Marathon, half marathon and 5K run. Bib and t-shirt pickup and day-of registration at Beach 94th Amphitheater starting at 6:30 a.m. All runs begin 8 a.m. on the boardwalk. See www.rockawaytc.org to register in advance.
Birding for Beginners
On Saturdays through October 25 at 10:30 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a ranger to take a nature walk, and learn the basics of bird identification. Binoculars available.
Cardio Punch
On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to Beach 60th and the boardwalk to join Gloria for Cardio Punch, a total body workout for all levels. Punch, hook, and kick to motivating, high-energy music that progress into heart-pumping combinations.
Free Art Classes
On Mondays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., head to 205 Beach 96th Street to enjoy free mixed media art classes with Ordervision, NYFA and others.
Uplifted Dance Class
On Mondays and Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m., head to the Beach 32nd Street Football Field (Beach 32nd and the boardwalk) for a free dance workout class with Miss Dawn.
