Haunted Harvest at the Y

On Friday, October 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., head to the Rockaway YMCA (207 Beach 73rd Street) for an evening of trunk-or-treat, a costume contest with prizes, a haunted maze, games, crafts and face painting, refreshments, music and more.

 

A Haunting in the Garden

On Friday, October 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., stop by the Garden by the Bay (480 Beach 43rd Street) for trick-or-treating, a spooky garden tour and puppets.

 

Fall Festival

On Saturday, November 1 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., head to O’Donohue Park on Beach 17th Street for a Fall Festival featuring a maze, pumpkin patch, arts and crafts, music, inflatables, animal education, petting zoo, face painting, sensory activities, games and more.

 

Dipper Homecoming Dip

On Saturday, November 1 at 10 a.m., head to Beach 67th Street on the Boardwalk to meet the New York Dippers Club for their first ocean dip of their 4th season, followed by a post-dip hang at Locals Collective coffee shop.  NYDC is a free, all-inclusive community that ocean plunges together every day in the winter.

 

Rockaway Community Park Cleanup

On Saturday, November 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to Rockaway Community Park on Beach 58th and Almeda Ave. to join JBRPC for their November CleanSweep, an effort by volunteers and students to remove marine debris from our shoreline! Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided. Rain or shine so wear weather-appropriate clothing.

 

Reiki in Rockaway

On Sunday, November 2 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to the Arverne East Coastal Conservation Center (190 Beach 44th St.) for a public meditation and Reiki refresh with Elsie Maio and Dana Humphrey. Enter in silence, share the stillness. All adults 18+ are welcome! Donations welcome.

 

MasterFitness Complete™

On Monday, November 3 at 11 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Ann Fosteris teaches a FREE exercise class. For neighbors of all ages and fitness levels.

 

Core on the Floor

On Monday, November 3 at 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a FREE thirty-minute class, led by Ann Fosteris, that focuses on core and lower body. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels are welcome!

 

Park Pals

On Tuesday, November 4 at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., head to the Arverne East Welcome Center (190 Beach 44th) to join JBRPC for Park Pals, an early childhood family program for children ages 0–6 and their caregiver(s) that introduces the next generation of young scientists to parks and urban wildlife. This session will highlight late-blooming native plants and the pollinators they support as they prepare for winter. Activities include a themed read-aloud, a short nature walk through the preserve, crafts, and more!

 

Rockaway Beach Civic Association

On Thursday, November 6 at 7 p.m., head to the upstairs meeting room at the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th Street) for the Rockaway Beach Civic Association meeting. Hear updates from the NYPD, elected officials and more.

 

Cardio Punch

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to Beach 60th and the boardwalk to join Gloria for Cardio Punch, a total body workout for all levels. Punch, hook, and kick to motivating music.

 

Uplifted Dance Class

On Mondays and Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m., head to the Beach 32nd Street Football Field (Beach 32nd and the boardwalk) for a free dance workout class with Miss Dawn.
