Rockaway Turkey Trot

On Thursday, November 27, the Rockaway Track Club hosts its Rockaway Turkey Trot. Head to Healy’s Pub (108-07 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) at 9 a.m. for bib and t-shirt pickup and day of registration. The 5K run begins on the boardwalk at 10 a.m.  Pre-register at Rockawaytc.org

100th Precinct Thanksgiving

On Thursday, November 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to the 100th Precinct (92-24 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a free Thanksgiving meal. For seniors and those who are disabled and can’t make it, contact Victor Boamah in advance at 917-783-5215 to have a meal delivered.

NY Dippers Thanksgiving Dip & Brunch

On Thursday, November 27, at 10 a.m. head to Beach 67th Street  to meet the New York Dippers Club for some bagels and lite bites before going into the ocean for an optional holiday dip!

Operation Thanksgiving Feast

On Thursday, November 27 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., head to Beach 20th Plaza (1037 Beach 20th Street) for a Far Rock Greek Council’s Thanksgiving service with warm food, canned goods, clothes and hygiene products. Volunteers welcome.

Stargazing with the Amateur Astronomers Association

On Friday, November 28 at 5 p.m., head to the Community Garden at Floyd Bennett Field to join the Amateur Astronomers Association to observe the night sky. Cancelled if raining or overcast.

Little North Pole Lighting

On Saturday, November 29 at 3:30 p.m., head to Joe Mure’s little North Pole (144-03 Neponsit Ave.) for the annual lighting ceremony. Performances, food, a visit from Santa and more! All proceeds go to Breakthrough T1D and stem cell treatments for Ali Rose.

On Monday, December 1 at 11 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Ann Fosteris teaches a FREE exercise class. For neighbors of all ages and fitness levels.

Core on the Floor

On Monday, December 1 at 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a FREE thirty-minute class, led by Ann Fosteris, that focuses on core and lower body. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels are welcome!

Beach 116th Christmas Tree Lighting

On Monday, December 1 at 4 p.m., head to Beach 116th Street near the firehouse for the annual tree lighting. Enjoy performances by the PS 114 Glee Club, a singalong with House on the Rock Church, a visit from Santa Claus, giveaways and more.

Dragon’s Way Qigong

On Friday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Alexandra G. Taggart, certified instructor of Dragon’s Way Qigong, leads a thirty-minute class of standing movement and meditation.

Holiday Boutique

On Friday, December 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., head to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th Street) to shop for the holidays from more than 40 local vendors. Enjoy a DJ, live music, raffles and more.

Broad Channel Crafters Boutique

On Friday, December 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., head to the American Legion Hall (209 Cross Bay Blvd.) to shop for handcrafted goods by the Broad Channel Crafters. Shop for jewelry, ornaments, baked goods, decorations and more. Proceeds go to local churches and veteran programs.

Broad Channel Christmas Festival

On Saturday, December 6 at 4 p.m., head to the BCAC Memorial Field (125 Cross Bay Blvd.) in Broad Channel for the annual Christmas tree lighting. Enjoy performances, hot cocoa, refreshments, letter writing to Santa, make your own reindeer food, raffles and more. They will be collecting canned goods for the St. Camillus food pantry and unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

Cardio Punch

On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head the Far Rockaway Library (1637 Central Ave.) to join Gloria for Cardio Punch, a total body workout for all levels. Punch to the rhythms of motivating music.
