Tree Giveaway
On Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard) for a FREE tree giveaway with New York Restoration Project. Native tree species include Basswood, Beach Plum, Northern Bayberry, Sweet Birch, and Virginia Sweetspire. Reservation required to guarantee yourself a tree at www.riserockaway.org/rise/events. A limited number of trees will be made available to walk-ins while supplies last.
Spring Cleaning
On Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to the outside of the 100th Precinct on Beach 94th and Rockaway Beach Blvd. to join the Rockaway Beach Civic Association for an Earth Day volunteer “spring cleaning” event. Help tidy up planted flower beds outside 100th Precinct and Peninsula Library, through weeding, collection of litter, and dressing with mulch. Gloves, bags and mulch provided.
Queens Culture Clash
On Sunday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th Street) for a collectibles event featuring 35+ tables of sports cards, Pokemon, One-Piece, TCG and Funko with PSA submissions with Rip It and food for sale by Jacks Corner.
Polinator Garden Planting
On Sunday, April 19 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to help plant native species and expand pollinator habitats. Gardening tools and supplies provided. Bring water and dress comfortably in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Those under 18 must be accompanied with an adult.
Birding for Beginners
On Sunday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a park ranger on a birding for beginners walk around the West Pond. All skill levels welcomed; binoculars provided. Dress for the weather.
A Taste of Natural Healing
On Monday, April 20 at 10 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Alexandra G. Taggart, certified instructor of Dragon’s Way Qigong, leads a FREE thirty-minute class. The Four Energy Gates is a practice to awaken the body’s energy. Think almost like an acupuncture treatment, but you are the practitioner!

On Monday, April 20 at 11 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Ann Fosteris teaches a FREE exercise class. For all ages and fitness levels.
Core on the Floor
On Monday, April 20 at 11:45 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a FREE thirty-minute class, led by Ann Fosteris, that focuses on core and lower body. Participants should bring their own mats. All levels!
BHPOA Meeting
On Tuesday, April 21 at 7 p.m., head to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th Street) for the Belle Harbor Property Owners Association meeting. Discuss beach issues, healthcare, roads and more.
Rockaway Game Club
On Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., head to Bungalow Bar (377 Beach 92nd Street) to join Rockaway Game Club for a night of games! $10 for first-timers, $5 for return adventurers. All ages. Stop by anytime. Follow @rockawaygameclub for more!
Cardio Punch
On Saturdays at 11 a.m., head to the Beach 60th boardwalk to join Gloria for Cardio Punch, a total body workout for all levels. Punch to the rhythms of motivating music. Through September.
Aging Mastery Program
Kingsborough Community College is hosting a free virtual program for those 50 and older on Tuesdays from April 21 through June 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Topics include navigating longer lives, exercise, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, medication management, advance planning and more.
