101st Precinct Commanding Officer Promoted to Deputy Inspector

Congratulations to NYPD 101st Precinct’s Commanding Officer, George Ng, upon his recent promotion in rank from Captain to Deputy Inspector. Ng was officially promoted at a ceremony at One Police Plaza on Monday, March 30.

Ng has worked for the NYPD for nearly 17 years, starting even before that as an NYPD Cadet. He began his career as a transit officer and was promoted to sergeant in 2016, promoted to lieutenant in 2018 and made his way up to captain in 2023 before becoming deputy inspector. He first got to the 101st Precinct in 2023 as executive officer before spending a year at the 105th Precinct and he returned to the 101st in December 2024 as commanding officer.

On his promotion, the 101st Precinct said, “Congratulations to our CO on a well-deserved promotion to Deputy Inspector! Your leadership and dedication to this command and the community never go unnoticed. Proud to serve under you, wishing you continued success!”
