BHPOA is Grateful

Dear Editor:
First, we want to apologize for the last-minute change of venue for this month’s meeting. We are especially grateful to the Belle Harbor Yacht Club for stepping up to the plate when we needed them most. Their hospitality ensured we could still come together as a community without missing a beat.
We were honored to welcome a remarkable group of guests who joined us and took the time to listen and respond to the concerns of our neighborhood: Dr. Donald Morrish (CEO of Episcopal Health Services), Senator James Sanders, Jr., Jennifer Horsley (Executive Director of St. John’s Residence for Boys), Community Board 14 District Manager Felicia Johnson, and Phyllis Inserillo (Chief of Staff to Councilwoman Ariola). Each of them gave generously of their time and answered every question our residents raised.
Their presence shows just how integral Belle Harbor is to the wider Rockaway community. Most of all, we want to thank our neighbors who came out, filled the room, and asked such thoughtful questions in such a respectful manner. Your engagement and passion are what make these meetings meaningful.
It’s through nights like this, when residents, leaders, and officials come together, that we see the true strength of Belle Harbor. We look forward to continuing the conversation, addressing challenges, and celebrating the Rockaway community we all love. Special thank you to 129 Pizza for keeping us all fueled throughout the evening! And to your paper for the comprehensive report last week.
