Thanks, Ricky! At Our Service for 51 Years

Ricky O’Neill retired from Gateway Recreational Area on September 25, 2025, with 51 years of service.

O’Neill was one of the first maintenance staff hired in the New York units and began in March 1974 as a laborer. He has held many positions in the Jamaica Bay maintenance unit, ending his Gateway career as the Jamaica Bay Unit Facility Manager.

O’Neill said, “After 51 years, 10 months, and 15 days, I am retiring from the best job I could have possibly taken as a 24-year-old looking for a job.”

Ricky O’Neill, thank you for your dedication and service over the years. You will be missed. Good luck with this new adventure!
