Hello darkness, my old friend. Daylight Saving Time ends this Saturday night (technically Sunday morning) at 2 a.m. Clocks “fall back” one hour, giving you an extra hour of sleep. Don’t forget to set your clocks back! Note, just this week, the U.S. Senate blocked the effort to make daylight savings time permanent.

This Sunday, November 2, is also the NYC Marathon. Best of luck to all the Rockaway runners as they tackle those 26.2 miles throughout the five boroughs.

Looking for something for your kids aged 11 to 18 to do on Saturday nights? The Rockaway YMCA and local youth officers present Saturday Night Lights, a free weekly basketball program. Middle school sessions run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and high school sessions from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It’s a great way for kids and teens to develop skills, engage with peers, and have fun. Parents can register their children in person at the Rockaway YMCA.
