Support Restoration Efforts!

Are you looking for hands-on experience in environmental restoration and community engagement? Look no further! RISE (Rockaway Initiative for Sustainability and Equity) is excited to announce part-time, seasonal job openings for the Dune Squad. The Dune Squad acts as the restoration team supporting “Greater Rockaway” Coastal Resilience Plan, a long-term community-centered dune restoration project in the Rockaways.

As part of the Dune Squad, you will have the opportunity to learn about and explore both native and invasive plants. You will work alongside like-minded individuals, fostering a collaborative environment focused on sustainability and stewardship. You also will have the chance to share your knowledge and passion with community members who participate in the volunteer program, helping to build a strong foundation for the future of the restoration plan.

The Dune Squad crew member role offers 15 to 20 hours per week, at $22 per hour, and the Dune Squad leader role offers 20 to 24 hours per week, at $28 per hour. Ideal candidates should have a connection to the Rockaways and an interest in native plants and be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
