Winter Wander Nature Walk
On Sunday, February 21 at 11 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to wander with a park ranger while it’s a winter wonderland! Explore how plants and animals at the park survive and adapt to the winter. Open to all ages. Please dress for the conditions.
A Taste of Natural Healing
On Monday, February 23 at 10 a.m., head to RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) as Alexandra G. Taggart, certified instructor of Dragon’s Way Qigong, leads a FREE thirty-minute class. The Four Energy Gates is a practice to awaken the body’s energy flow. Think almost like an acupuncture treatment, but you are the practitioner!
Rockaway Republican Club Meeting

Rockaway Community Park Cleanup
On Saturday, February 28 at 10 a.m., head to Rockaway Community Park at Almeda Ave. and Beach 59th Street to join Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy for a cleanup in honor of World Wetlands Day. Help remove harmful debris from this important shoreline and wetland. Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring their own water. Event is rain or shine. Sign a waiver at www.jbrpc.org/events

Rockaway St. Patrick’s Day Parade
On Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m., line up on Newport Ave. or Rockaway Beach Blvd. as the 51st Annual Queens County St. Patrick’s Day parade rolls through town. Parade begins at Beach 130th and Newport Ave., turns down Beach 116th Street and continues down Rockaway Beach Blvd. to around Beach 102nd Street.
