St. Camillus / St. Virgilius MVPs of the Week
The St. Camillus/ St. Virgilius basketball program is underway with about 150 local kids from 4th grade to 8th grade, playing in the Girls and Boys leagues. Here are some standout players this week.
Kristen Brenna
Girls League
Kristen was a scoring machine this week. She has the ability to score from anywhere on the court, and that’s exactly what she did in this game. Kristen was using her quickness to drive to the basket, her soft touch to knock down shots from mid-range, and her skill to drain shots from beyond the 3-point arc. Her incredible league leading 31 points allowed her team to come away with a solid victory.
Connor Chavanne
Junior Boys League

Connor is clearly one of the best players in the league. He was especially dominating this week. He was ripping down rebounds on both ends of the court and scoring at will. This was a very close game with the Orange team trailing most of the way. Connor almost single-handedly kept his team in the game by knocking down shots from everywhere on the court. His league-leading 23 points was the main reason the Orange team was able make a great comeback and secure a hard-fought 5-point victory.
Justin Murphy
Senior Boys League

Justin was on fire this week. He is a very smooth player who can do it all. The defense had no answer for him this week. He was scoring at will from everywhere. His main option is his slick moves to the basket where he makes seemingly impossible shots under the hoop. But he can do much more than that. He’s scores from mid range, and he’s got a sweet shot from beyond the 3-point arc. His impressive 28 points led his team to a well-deserved win.
