A Deterrence

Dear Editor:

It is true that your recent posted letter about traffic speeds and hidden cameras is accurate.

On Beach Channel Drive, the lights change with little abrupt notice in split seconds from yellow to red, giving you 1/10 of a second to respond even following the speed limit or in a crosswalk.

Recently, I travelled through Broad Channel and was surprised with the hodgepodge of speed limits as low as 20 MPH. People are almost guaranteed a ticket while doing their best.

I no longer travel there or support businesses there since there is an even chance of being caught in this speed trap.

The local chamber of commerce needs to speak up.

I will now do business in other neighborhoods or on Amazon.
