Scholars Goes Under the Sea

On Friday, March 13, Scholars’ Academy held its annual fundraiser at the American Legion Hall in Broad Channel. This year’s theme, Under the Sea, transformed the venue into an ocean inspired evening of community, celebration, and support for the school.

Families, friends, and supporters of Scholars’ Academy gathered for a fun filled night. The event brought the community together while raising funds to support the school’s programs and initiatives that enrich students’ educational experiences.

A special thank you goes to event co-chairs Jodi Heywood and Kimberly Benn, along with Executive Board Members Bernadette Gustamo and Damaris Castro, whose dedication helped make the fundraiser a tremendous success. Their work, along with the efforts of the Under the Sea Fundraising Committee, ensured a memorable evening for all who attended. Committee members included Tina Deodato, Cassy Ford, Nandy Persaud, Mariela Costanzo, Arika Shakir, Mag Robinson, Fina Perricone, Kristine Cicero, Tania Gavagan, Jessica Geier, Maureen Hughes, Rosanna Connors, Christina Quintana, Jennifer Moroney, Kimberly Newman, Sanitra Snowden, Anne Marie Miller, Maura McKeever, Sheila Flanagan, Trina Woods, and Kristine Supple-O’Connor.

Scholars’ Academy also thanks the many local individuals and businesses whose generous donations and sponsorships made the evening possible. Funds raised will support school programs and help continue enriching experiences for Scholars’ Academy students.
