Head Into Next Season
By Robin Shapiro
There are a bunch of things you can do to increase your home’s appeal to possible buyers. Even if you do not plan on selling your house, it’s a good idea to keep the house in good shape, to the best of your ability. A well-maintained house is more enjoyable to live in, and one day when/if it becomes time to sell the house you will not be overwhelmed with fix-up chores in order to make the house more presentable.
I’d have a professional home inspector give the house a good once-over. The inspector can make you aware of unforeseen problems which have a good chance of appearing under the microscope of the careful buyer. Often, these problems can be simple/inexpensive to remedy. Some home buyers can be emotional – thus, you can avoid turning them off with a simple repair of things like a dripping faucet, loose cabinet door/storm door/garage door, etc. I PROVIDE a free home inspection by a licensed home inspector for every signed six month exclusive.
It’s a good idea to make the house look as neat as possible. Get rid of clutter in storage spaces, closets, and garage. Attention to landscaping is important as we head into the summer season. Trim bushes and add some plants (potted?), if possible. I can help with these things. I’m an officer in The Shore Garden Club. Call me. Love, Robin
