A Palm Sunday Blessing
Dear Editor:
I would like to tell you about something that happened at Saint Camillus on Palm Sunday. I wasn’t there as I had a heart attack on March 23. I wrote this to Bishop Brennan:
Good morning and God bless. I would like to thank you for keeping Saint Camillus open. My son, James McCabe, the organist, and FDNY Fire Captain Peter Haggerty saved someone’s life on Palm Sunday during Mass. James had a defibrillator in his car. When she collapsed, James and Peter went to work. Peter put the pads on and James shocked her. James and Peter really are heroes as they got her heart back until FDNY transported her. She is recovering and it’s a miracle. Please take a moment and say a prayer for all involved. God bless!
I am a super proud mom and have the pleasure of working with Captain Haggerty at the FDNY Fire Academy.
Who knows what would have happened to this woman had she been home. The irony of James’ mom having a heart attack the week before.
Happy Easter!
Patricia McCabe
