Celtics Win First Game in Wolf Pack Tournament

The Rockaway Celtics triumphed in a thrilling match on Wednesday night, June 11, at St. Edmund’s High School gym against the Brooklyn Kings. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the contest.
Luke Walsh emerged as a standout player, showcasing his hustle and tough defense while scoring 14 points. Sean McDonagh ran the team on both offense and defense. A crucial moment came when Travis Mitterway sank a three-pointer with just 37 seconds remaining.
The Celtics’ defense was impenetrable, preventing the Brooklyn Kings from attempting any shots in the final moments. The Celtics won. Logan Wassengburg faced a tough challenge against the Kings’ big players but fought hard throughout the game. Meanwhile, Big Mike was a dominant force on the boards, securing numerous rebounds that translated into scoring opportunities for the Celtics.
On Sunday night, June 8, the Celtics won against the Court Kings in the Island Garden League. Peter McElhinney dropped 17 points. Ty Duffy and Travis Mitterway added 16 each. Sean McDonagh had 10 assists and added 13 points. Michael McCann’s hustle and rebounding helped secure the win for the Celtics.
