Construction Resumes on Riis Bathhouse

After the project stalled for several months, the construction to transform the Riis Park Bathhouse finally resumed earlier this month. Eventually, the 1932 building is expected to be restored to its former glory and become an active hub with new restaurants, a bar, pool, event spaces and 28 hotel rooms. Operators say a “tiered opening” should happen next summer! The folks undertaking this massive overhaul are the same group running the concessions on the Rockaway Beach boardwalk and used to operate Riis Bazaar.
