Cownose Rays Return to Jamaica Bay

The rays are back in the bay! Making their migration and slurping up shellfish and baitfish along the way, cownose rays have been making a splash all around Jamaica Bay.
Often traveling in a V formation, with pointy wings, the rays sometimes get mistaken for sharks, but there was no mistaking what local fisherman Danny Ruscillo saw as he snapped clear photos of the rays swimming by the ferry landing on Sunday, July 12.
