Doing Their Part

It’s a beautiful thing when a business, big or small, does their part to beautify the neighborhood. Kudos to Duane Reade on Beach 116th Street for doing just that.

Local real estate agent Maureen Walsh had sent a letter to Duane Reade, suggesting that they clean up their storefront garden area on Beach Channel Drive, which had become overgrown with weeds. Walsh was happy to see that her suggestion was taken into consideration. As of last week, the weeds have been removed and beautiful rose bushes are now growing in front. “It’s always good to see. Maybe some other corporate neighbors can step up and do the same,” Walsh said.
