- Election Day is not the first Tuesday in November. By law it is actually the first Tuesday following the first Monday of November. Therefore, November 1 can never be Election Day.

- Bluetooth was named after Harald Bluetooth – King of Denmark 1,000 years ago. The Bluetooth logo is made from the Nordic runes of his initials.
- Mature swine are called hogs and young swine are called pigs, but often hog, pig, and swine are used synonymously. A female hog is called a sow, and a male hog is called a boar.
