FDNY Battles Late Night Blaze

FDNY was kept busy with late night/early morning blazes this week.
During the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 23, just before 4 a.m., FDNY responded to a two-alarm fire at a long-abandoned home at 323 Beach 43rd Street. The large fire was a dangerous one, leading firefighters to pull out of the home and operate outside while knocking it down. By 5 a.m., the fire was out. Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries.
This comes after the previous night, just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday, FDNY got a call for a balcony fire at 8100 Shore Front Parkway. Flames could be seen from a top-floor apartment. One person in the apartment was treated for chest pain. The fire was contained by 3 a.m.
