Girls Rule!

The St. Francis de Sales girls took on the boys and the girls won! Spearheaded by John Martin, SFDS recently launched the first girls’ flag football division for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. The girls have been playing all boys teams as no other parish in the Brooklyn / Queens diocese has their own girls flag football league.

On Sunday, May 4, the 6th grade SFDS girls played the 6th grade SFDS boys, who were the 2024 Flag Football Champions. After an intense game, the girls pulled off a huge win of 36 to 30. This game was a testament to the girls’ tenacity and athleticism to be up against all odds and still prevail, pulling off a win against the boys 2024 champions.
