JKS Printing Closes After 40 Years
On March 5, longtime Beach 116th print shop JKS Printing closed its doors for good after 40 years. The beloved business was a go-to for printing needs, t-shirts, faxing and school uniforms.
Owner Lissa O’Shea said, “Just wanted to let you all know that JKS has officially closed. Sorry for the sudden departure. I want to thank everyone for being a part of it. Lost our lease…couldn’t be helped. Again, thank you, Rockaway for 40 years.”
O’Shea did not go into further detail about the closure or the future of the business, but she advise customers that she’ll still be printing t-shirts.
The building where JKS was located, 188 Beach 116th Street, was part of a $4.5M sale of six storefronts from Sam’s Discount on the corner to the Rockaway Food Market, sold to Beach 116 Partners LLC in May 2024. Matthew Adhoot of United Developers, LLC owns the LLC, in addition to more than 200 properties across New York, including a few others in Rockaway. One of his most recent projects was a five-story 101-unit residential building at 60-14 Beach Channel Drive.
