New Administrator Appointed!
Dear Editor:
Our faith and prayers have been answered once again at St. Camillus. At last Sunday’s 11:30 a.m. Mass Fr. Rodriguez announced that Fr. James Kuroly was appointed by the Bishop as the new Administrator for the St. Camillus-St. Virgilius Parish. Welcome Fr. Kuroly!
Yes, St. Camillus is open. How long, we do not know. It depends on what we do! Yes, we have a new Administrator but he is one person. He cannot do it alone. We as the faithful of the parish and Rockaway community need to say YES to working harder than ever to restore the parish spiritual life. We need to say YES in spreading the good news of the Lord as we invite people to join St. Camillus. And YES, we need to improve the financial state of the parish. Now that we have a new administrator, we need to take action! We will only have success in keeping St. Camillus open if everyone is committed to help. We are counting on everyone to lend their talents and skills and time. We all need to step up to participate and join in to renew the Parish and to support the existence of St. Camillus Church.
We invite everyone to join Fr. Kuroly as he celebrates his first Mass at St. Camillus Church this Sunday, May 3 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a reception of cake and coffee. Let’s give him a warm welcome.
A big thank you to the Rockaway Knights of Columbus for sponsoring the second coffee and cake gathering after Mass last Sunday. Thank you to all who attended and to the Hospitality volunteers.
Faith in Action,
Barbara Buffolino
