New Year’s Day Plunge With the Dippers Club

On Thursday, Jan 1, at 10 a.m. kick off your 2026 with a classic Rockaway Beach adventure and head to Beach 67th Street on the beach to meet the New York Dippers Club (NYDC) for their 4th annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge; maybe head over a bit early to grab a pre-plunge coffee and breakfast at Locals Collective coffee shop.

NYDC is a free, all-inclusive community that ocean plunges together every day in the winter, in all weather, and you could be a part of the cold-water community adventu­re. Their biggest dip is always New Year’s Day, attracting hundreds of happy dippers from all five boroughs, Long Island, and beyond.

And if you can’t get enough, it’s early enough to dip again! Most other New Year’s Day Polar Plunges across the peninsula, like at Beach 146th, 127th, 119th, 108th and 91st Streets happen at noon.
