Pesach Osina for Assembly Racks Up Endorsements
On February 19, Democratic candidate for the open 23rd NYS Assembly District, Pesach Osina, announced that he’s secured the endorsement of three of the district’s prominent elected officials ahead of the Primary Election. Senator James Sanders Jr, Assemblymember Khaleel Anderson, and Councilmember Selvena Brooks-Powers announced their support for Osina.
District 23 covers the Rockaways, Broad Channel, Howard Beach, Hamilton Beach and Ozone Park. These endorsements add to the growing institutional and grassroot momentum behind Osina’s campaign following support from the Queens County Democratic Committee, Assembly Member Stacey Pheffer Amato and former Assembly Member Phil Goldfeder.
Senator James Sanders, Jr. said “Pesach Osina knows our communities on the Rockaways like few others. He understands our issues and shares our values. I know he’ll make an outstanding legislator and will deliver for his constituents on Day One.”
“I am proud to endorse Pesach Osina and look forward to him serving communities like Wavecrest Gardens, Gateway Apartments, Seaview Towers, Ocean Park, Ozone Park, and the many diverse neighborhoods that make up the 23rd Assembly District. We both hail from the Rockaway Peninsula and in my time knowing him, he has been present and engaged, and our residents appreciate leaders who show up and listen. Now, our communities are counting on real results from housing and public safety to quality of life. I’m confident he understands that responsibility. As his potential future colleague, I will work closely with him and hold him accountable to ensure we deliver the meaningful progress our diverse families and communities deserve,” Assemblyman Khaleel Anderson said.
Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers stated, “I’ve known Pesach for years. He’s constantly grinding away to help Queens residents in any way he can – from being on the front lines during COVID-19 to spearheading relief efforts after major storms and flooding – Pesach knows how government works and he’ll put government to work for the people.”
“I am humbled to have the support of these true public servants who work so hard every single day to deliver for their constituents,” Pesach Osina said. “Fighting for our communities has always been the work of my life, and I’m excited to bring that work to Albany with the support of these longtime leaders who know better than anyone what it takes to both help people and lead with integrity and dignity.”
