Pheffer Amato Endorsed by Police, Fire and Retiree Unions

As election day nears and early voting begins October 26, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato has been raking in some major endorsements. Following her endorsement by the NYC Police Benevolent Association (PBA) earlier this month, Pheffer Amato recently received the endorsement of every law enforcement union within the NYPD, NYC Retirees and two FDNY unions.

According to a press release from Pheffer Amato’s campaign, this past week, Pheffer Amato was endorsed by the Detective Endowment Association (DEA), Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA), Lieutenants Benevolent Association (LBA), and the Captains Endowment Association (CEA). The unanimous endorsement of all five police unions within NYC is uncommon.

“I’m beyond thankful for the support of all of our amazing law enforcement unions. Our Detectives, Sergeants, Lieutenants, and Captains are always there when we need them. They fight crime and protect the public every day and I will never stop fighting to help them, and their families. They know I’ve always had their back, and my support will never wane,” Pheffer Amato said.

“If there is one person law enforcement can trust to have our back, it’s Stacey Pheffer Amato,” Scott Munro, President of the Detectives Endowment Association said. “She has proven herself time and time again as a friend which is why the NYC Detectives Endowment Association is proud to endorse Stacey Pheffer Amato for re-election to the State Assembly!”

“The Lieutenants Benevolent Association enthusiastically endorses Stacey Pheffer Amato for re-election to the NYS Assembly,” Lieutenants Benevolent Association President, Louis Turco, said. Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato has been a champion of law enforcement issues and has worked tirelessly on matters important to our membership. Pheffer Amato works hard on behalf of law enforcement and has earned our continuing support for her re-election.”

“We need legislators who support law enforcement in Albany, and it’s clear that our strongest supporter is Stacey Pheffer Amato! There is no doubt that Stacey is the right person to help us and ensure we get everything we need to serve and protect New Yorkers,” Sergeants Benevolent Association President Vincent J. Vallelong said.

According to another press release, this week, Pheffer Amato was also officially endorsed by the NYC Organization of Public Service Retirees on a packed zoom call of retired public employees from the Rockaways, Broad Channel, Howard Beach and Ozone Park. The group, which has a membership of over 50,000 men and women who worked as teachers, transit workers, correction officers, laborers, first responders —every role of unionized public employees in New York City — cheered as they called for Pheffer Amato to be re-elected to the State Assembly.

As mentioned in another press release, Pheffer Amato was endorsed by the two unions representing the men and women in the FDNY, the UFA (Uniformed Firefighters Association) and the UFOA (Uniformed Fire Officers Association). The unions emphasized how Pheffer Amato has not only supported firefighters, but also delivered on her promises for enhanced benefits for the City’s bravest.

“Stacey Pheffer Amato is a strong ally for NYC Firefighters and their families. Firefighters throughout NYC have benefited from her extraordinary work which is why the UFA proudly endorses Stacey Pheffer Amato for re-election. She has never stopped fighting for us, and we need her in the State Assembly to continue to fight, and win, for us. When we call for help in Albany, Stacey Pheffer Amato answers the call,” said UFA President Andrew Ansbro.
