The Irish Riviera is alive and well. Comhaltas Ceoltóiri Éireann’s Traditional Irish Music and Dance Event on Sunday, January 5, was a resounding success.

Everyone from Rockaway locals to Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan residents and beyond gathered for the festivities, filling packed tables at the Knights of Columbus. Guests got to enjoy brunch, drinks, music by Tommy Mulvihill and members of the Killoran-Clancy-Whelan, Mulligan-Quinn and Üll Mór branches of Comhaltas, a youth holiday performance in tribute to St. Stephen’s Day, Irish dancing, céilí dancing lessons, Irish Language lessons and more.

Annmarie Acosta Williams, a local resident and one of the hosts of the event said, “I am blown away by the community support and the amazing turnout! It was phenomenal to see here in Rockaway.” And with that success, Acosta Williams says there will be more Comhaltas Ceoltóiri Éireann events in Rockaway in the future.
