RLL Championship Season Concludes

Championship season at Rockaway Little League concluded Monday night, June 23, with Breezy Lumber, the top seed in the Pee Wee Seniors division, claiming the title with a 4-0 victory over McManus Plumbing.
The Pee Wee Seniors division was very tight to the finish. Breezy only had a half-game lead over Meat Up Grill when the season concluded. Third-place McManus was just one game further back. The Plumbers made it to the finals by knocking off the Grill, 6-3, in a well-played game last Saturday. The champs had advanced with a 6-1 win over Ridgewood Bank. The PWS playoffs began with a 14-13 barnburner, as Ridgewood edged Crustino’s Pizza.
Saturday, June 21, saw two crowns claimed, by Berkshire Hathaway in Minor Girls and by Giuseppe’s Barbershop in Minor Boys. For Giuseppe’s, it capped an undefeated season, but it was not easy. They had to overcome an early deficit against the rugged TK Foundation team. Berkshire Hathaway was nearly as flawless in its march to the title. They capped a great season by beating Shannon Florist 12-3.
The first title of 2025 was won by Z-Shells in an upset over Belle Harbor & Neponsit Living. Z-Shells prevailed in a tight, 5-3 game. They had advanced to the finals with the similarly competitive game (6-3) against Walsh Properties.
It was a wonderful 72nd season for Rockaway Little League. Game play in the non-competitive divisions (T-Ball, Pee Wee Girls, Pee Wee Jr.) also wrapped up by Monday.
