Rockaway Hotel Parades to the Polar Plunge
When The Rockaway Hotel takes the plunge, they go all out. Led by a brass band and a festively fun Paddy Tubz, the Beach 108th Street New Year’s Day plunge kicked off with a procession down to the beach.
Some plungers took advantage of The Rockaway Hotel’s paid event, which included a brunch and cocktails to build up some courage to dip into the 44-degree ocean on Wednesday, January 1. Then at around 12:30 p.m., attendees followed the Hot Hand Band and Paddy Tubz in a parade down to the beach, before they jumped into the chilly ocean at different times to ring in 2025. After the plunge, those attending the event got to take advantage of the Hotel’s saunas and heated pool to thaw out.
