Belle Harbor resident Robert Sarnoff’s film, “THE BLOCK,” was recently screened at The Manhattan Film Expo.

On Wednesday, June 26, Sarnoff’s friends and family joined him at Cinema Village on East 12th in Manhattan for the screening event. “We enjoyed viewing the movie on the big screen at Cinema Village on East 12th Street. The Dolby sound greatly enhanced the experience,” Sarnoff said.

Sarnoff’s film, featuring interviews with his neighbors on Beach 138th Street, was released in December 2023. As he describes it, “THE BLOCK” is “A collection of gabfests, observations, that morph into a love letter to a surrogate family, warts and all. Despite differences of all stripes, the block solidifies as the monstrous ravages of nature’s wrath threaten its very existence.”

“THE BLOCK” was not among the winners at the the multi-day film expo but making it as a finalist was award in itself. You can find “THE BLOCK” on Amazon Prime.
